What is a Support Team?

First of all, we want to thank you all so much for taking the time to read our blog and to pray for us! Your prayers have certainly been working! God has been doing some incredible things and showing us that He is our provider in every way! 

We have been fundraising mainly through sending out support letters and visiting churches, and now we are going to begin posting donation options online! We are so thankful for all of your prayers, for all of you who have given us words of encouragement and support, and  for every person who has donated or joined our support team so far- It means so much to us! 

We believe that every single person in the world has an irreplaceable role in the great commission. 

The great commission: 

"Therefore GO and make disciples of all nations, 

baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit!" 

-Matthew 28:19 

Some people GO, some people PRAY for the ones who go, other people ENABLE the ones who go by keeping their children or working for them at their job, and some people SEND the ones who go by supporting them financially! 

A "Support Team" is a group of people who are SENDERS! A sender is someone who gives their money/resources to support a missionary. If you are a sender, you have a heart for missions, a desire to see the world changed, a longing to see the hungry be fed, and a compassion for the poor. You are JUST as important in the MISSION as the missionary himself/herself! You are interested in changing the world and seeing people's lives transformed! Jesus is important to you and because of that, every single person that He created is so very important to you as well! God has already placed the desire in your heart to become a monthly supporter and He has chosen you to make a difference in Peru!

Chris and I are building a support team of people who will pledge to support us with a monthly donation of any amount for one year. This donation will begin as soon as you join the team and end in December of 2014. If you are a monthly supporter, you will receive a newsletter each month and frequent updates about what we are doing in Peru and how your money is being used in mission work! All donations are also tax deductible because Cross Point Ministries is a 501c3 non-profit organization! 

There are several ways to become a monthly supporter! Monthly donations can be made by check, money order, online donation through PayPal, or by an automatic monthly withdrawal from the monthly supporter's checking account.  If you are interested in becoming a monthly supporter, please email me your name and mailing address at sandyellynhunt@gmail.com and I will send you an information packet to fill out and return to us!

Our mission is to rescue the street children and to show them God's love. There are thousands of children living on the streets of Lima, fighting to survive by stealing and digging through the trash for scraps of food. Heartbreakingly, girls are sold on the streets at as young as 10 and 11 years old for what we would consider to be pocket change. There is an incredible need for food, shelter, clothing, and education for these children. This is where you and I come in! We believe that Jesus has a plan for each child and that every single child deserves to be loved, fed, educated, and cared for.

Our goal is to raise $30,000 dollars. This money will provide for our basic needs (such as housing, food, and transportation) and it will also be used to provide for the Peruvian people and show them the love of God through practical provision! 

Here is a breakdown of our $30,000 budget for 2014: 

-$1,650 monthly for our personal expenses (housing, transportation, food, insurance, electricity, water) The total for our  living expenses comes to $19,800 for the year.

-$10,200 specifically for mission purposes:

• Quarterly projects- $3,000 ($750 each) 
• Monthly ministry- $7,200 ($600 per month)
