I AM ONE begins THIS SUNDAY! I am so excited about this event! I mentioned it before on the blog, but I want to give an update on ONE and spread the word about what God is doing in Statesboro! I AM ONE is a week long project to show the love of Jesus Christ through spreading the gospel by word and action. It is a group of college students who desire to see change in our city and who have a passion for salvation and unity! This Sunday night we will meet together at 6pm in the Russell Union Ballroom for a night of prayer and worship. Next week is going to be amazing and life changing for so many people and we want to begin by magnifying God and lifting our community and our campus in prayer to Him.
Sunday night we will spend two hours in the ballroom praying and worshiping God. We want to be a people of prayer and a people who understand the power that we have in Christ Jesus. If you are reading this blog and you are in Statesboro, please come pray with us! It is not limited to college students! We need you!
Monday April 15 is "LOVE DAY!" This day is so awesome because you can participate even if you don't live in Statesboro. We will be sending out teams to different locations in our community with the sole purpose of spreading the love of Christ. Love day is all about stepping out of our comfort zone and doing something crazy for God- to show his love to all people. We can never underestimate the power of telling someone that they are deeply loved. Love changed the world forever when Jesus died for us and that same love continues to change lives today! No matter where you are, I invite you to dedicate yourself to showing the love of Jesus intentionally and in specific ways on Monday! Let's change the world together with the love of Christ!
Tuesday there will be an "ON CAMPUS FOOD BANK" where students will be joining together to give away at least 100 large bags of groceries to other students in need. There are so many students on our campus who are struggling to buy groceries and who do not have enough food! We will also be providing students with free Bibles and giving them the priceless gift of God's word!
Wednesday, there will be an event called "Donate, get a plate." The purpose of this event is to collect supplies for the homeless in our community by giving a free plate of food in exchange for 3 or more items for the homeless. This is an extremely important event because there are many people who are unaware of the homeless community in Statesboro and our goal is to raise awareness that there are families and students that are in need of our help, homeless and living below the poverty level right here in our city. Wednesday night there will be an "END IT" awareness session to shine a light on modern day slavery that exists in the world today. Please take a moment to watch the YouTube video and become aware that there are more slaves TODAY than at any other time in history. Please take a stand and join with us to end slavery! You matter. Your voice matters. You are ONE person who has the power to change the world.
Thursday we will be hosting a carnival at the RAC amphitheater at 5:30 pm. There will be carnival food, games and information about different ministries and organizations in our community! This event is not only for students! It is for children, students, families and all people of every race, background and denomination. At 7pm there will be an incredible service focusing on Unity and "ONE NIGHT, ONE GOD, ONE BODY OF BELIEVERS." I am so excited to see what God is going to do Thursday night!
Friday we will be taking a group of students, a big blue truck, some awesome food and the love of Jesus and going out into the city to do mission work!!
This next week is going to be incredible! God is going to change Statesboro, GA and Georgia Southern University forever! How can you help? If you are in Statesboro, please come join us! We need your help! Just send me a message and let me know which events you are interested in and I will put you in contact with the team leader for that day! Also, please pray! Pray for our campus and our city! Pray for hearts to be opened and prepared to change forever! Pray for salvation and unity! We are all in this together and we are each so important to the Lord. My favorite quote says that "Because your existence in time and space is unique, there are lives that only you can touch." Each ONE of us is so vital and important to the kingdom of God. You are so unique and God has created you to change the world. Let's take a stand together! NO more apathy, no more selfishness, no more division, no more death, no more racism, no more slavery, no more hate, no more standing by and doing nothing while people are suffering and dying! Let's END IT!
